Well folks, in 1998, after 20 years of active duty service in the Air Force with the Security Police/Forces, I decided to make a big change and I retired.  Those 20 years were incredible;  as I traveled throughout the world to places I only dreamed of when I was young, undertook jobs I never thought I'd have an opportunity to do; but most importantly, I met so many good friends, worked for a small handful of great leaders who have all since retired, and led some of the most incredible men and women America can offer - the best.

After retiring, I spent 21 years (12 as a contractor and later as an Air Force civilian for over 8 years) working at the Air Force Security Forces Center (AFSFC) as the "computer guy."  For over 40 years now, my AF career accomplishments have been the pride of my professional life.

I turned 60 this year and I've decided to make a drastic career and personal change.  This time, I'm off to the Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania, to work for the US Navy, unaccompanied for at least 18 months.  This will be a whole new chapter in my life as I have heard great things about the Navy but have never served outside the Air Force. I am very anxious to get there sometime in early January and excited at the thought of exploring Eastern Europe, taking on the challenges of a new job, and meeting new sailor warriors.

This blog is where I will catalog my journey into the Navy and into Romanian life.  Visit often as I will continue posting numerous photos and videos of my travels through Europe, Romanian recipes I learn to cook and share, different historical sites, people I meet, and much more.  Please join me in my travels and feel free to comment.
