IT’S OFFICIAL!
Yes indeed, the reality hit home last night when I opened an email from Great Lakes, IL which contained my travel itinerary to Bucharest, Romania. I will be leaving on 15 March at noon Central time and fly to Dulles IAP, Washington DC. From there I’ll catch a flight to Vienna, Austria and finally into Bucharest - 8 months and 25 hours after I started this journey from San Antonio.
It took a concerted effort from many people to make this finally happen; my wonderful and loving families in San Antonio and Florida for supporting my decisions, my future co-workers in Romania who interviewed and selected me for this opportunity of a lifetime, the Navy HR staff in Naples, Italy, the medical staffs in Corpus Christi, Wilford Hall, and BAMC, my supportive (but always doubtful) friends and co-workers at the Security Forces Center, the Civilian Personnel Office, Outbound Assignments, Personal Property Office in San Antonio, Kristine in Great Lakes for making my travel arrangements, and most of all - our loving Heavenly Father above for showing me the way.
